Place Pick
Overview
Place Pick is a streamlined command for quickly inserting a selected component into the active Inventor document. When activated, Place Pick prompts you to select a part or assembly, then immediately launches the standard Inventor place workflow with your selection.
Unlike the standard Place command, Place Pick combines selection and placement into a single, efficient process. The command works with both parts and assemblies, and ensures that the selected component is inserted directly into the currently active document, ready for positioning and constraints. This helps maintain design speed and accuracy, especially in large assemblies or when working with libraries of reusable parts.
How It Works
When you activate Place Pick, you are prompted to select a component. Once selected, the command automatically launches the Inventor place workflow, allowing you to position the component in the active edit document. The component is inserted at the location you specify, and you can immediately apply constraints or make further edits as needed.
Place Pick is context-aware, ensuring that the component is placed in the currently active document. It works seamlessly with Inventor’s constraint and editing tools for post-placement adjustments.
